William H. “Jun” Billingsley Jr., age 71, passed away Tuesday November 7, 2017 in Xenia, Ohio. Bill was born December 30, 1945 in Martel, Tennessee the son of the late William Billingsley Sr. and Dorothy (Cochraham) Billingsley. Along with his parents Bill is preceded in death by a brother: Ronny Billingsley and a niece: Carolyn Marshall. Jun is survived by his; sisters: Dorothy DarJean (Alex), Brenda Billingsley, Janet Tucker (Kevin) and Jacqueline Washington (Terrel). Bill is also survived by a sister-in-law: Yvette Billingsley and numerous other nieces, nephews and family members. Bill served his country in the United States Air Force, a member of the Ohio Historical Society, National African American Museum and Culture Center, National African American Museum Association and was active in Breast Cancer Awareness being a breast cancer survivor himself. Bill was an excellent cook, uncle, brother, and caregiver to his parents and sisters. Bill was a true patriarch of the family.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM Saturday, November 11, 2017 at the First United Christian Church 626 N. Columbus St. Xenia, Ohio 45385 with Bishop Dr. Edgar Wallace officiating. Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM Saturday until service time at the Church. Burial will take place privately at the Dayton National Cemetery.
