AAAM Conference scholarships are a benefit of AAAM membership. Scholarship applicants must be AAAM Members (individual or institutional) seeking to attend the 2021 Virtual Annual Conference and preference will be given to first time conference attendees and on the basis of financial need.

The need-based scholarship provides recipients with full-conference registration, and a a two-year membership to AAAM. Applicants are required to provide a case statement for receiving funds, along with a detailed list of anticipated travel expenses.

Application Deadline: July 2nd, 2021 (11:59 p.m. EASTERN)

The AAAM Annual Conference Scholarship is generously funded by the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture. Smithsonian employees, AAAM Board members, and AAAM Staff are not eligible to receive a 2021  scholarship.
