Webinar: Black History is American History: Centering the Long Civil Rights Struggle in DC Area Parks

The National Capital Area History Program, in partnership with the Organization of American Historians, is pleased to invite you to register for “Black History is American History: Centering the Long Civil Rights Struggle in DC Area Parks”
The virtual event will be held next Tuesday, August 17, at 1 PM EST.
In this 90-minute webinar, a panel of scholars and public historians will highlight recent research in Black history in our parks, including forthcoming studies about Reconstruction, Civil Rights, and rural African American communities.  Panelists include your NPS colleagues Kimberly Robinson, Sabrina Romain, and Dean Herrin, and authors Dr. Cheryl LaRoche, University of Maryland, and Edie Wallace, Friends of Tolson’s Chapel.
