Giving Voice Initiative Symposium: Listening to our Ancestors, Hearing from our Communities

April 8, 2021 @ 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Are you your family’s historian? Are you looking to be inspired to go even deeper into your ancestry? Become part of Marietta House Museum’s interactive Giving Voice Initiative by sharing your stories and experiences while learning new ones.

Be part of the first virtual  program of this series, “Listening to our Ancestors, Hearing from our Communities” on Thursday, April 8, 4-6 pm.

The program will feature Dr. Bettye Kearse and Dr. Melanie Adams for an evening of conversation and community about family and descendants. Dr. Kearse is the author of “The Other Madisons: The Lost History of a President’s Black Family.” She discusses her search for her ancestors and tells of her experiences, and how she became the family “griot”.

Dr. Adams will moderate a discussion between the community and Dr. Kearse. To register, please visit www.parksdirect.com or use this direct link: https://tinyurl.com/yrvyd4ku
