Call for Board Member Nominations!
The Association of African American Museums (AAAM) is now accepting nominations for individuals to serve on our Board of Directors! The 2019 cohort of the Board of Directors is nearing the end of their second term and will conclude their service in July 2025. While their contributions will be greatly missed, it is time to welcome new, dedicated professionals who are eager to help advance AAAM’s mission and legacy.
Requirements:
✅ Active AAAM membership
✅ Attend quarterly Board Meetings and the Annual Conference
✅ Participate in volunteering during the Annual Conference
✅ Participate in our annual Board Give or Get ($1,000 annually)
✅ Serve on a board committee and support the Executive

ARTICLE VI. NOMINATION, VOTING AND ELECTION
Section II. Any member of the Association may nominate any member in good standing to any office or as an at-large Board member of the Association. The member of good standing who wishes to self-nominate must submit a signed petition with twenty-five (25) signatures of members in good standing to the Nominating Committee. Petitions must be submitted five (5) months before the next election.

Please Note: Upon nominating an individual to the Board, please let them know immediately. Early notification will allow your nominee to prepare to be present during the August Board Meeting and Conference should they be selected.
