2025 AAAM Emerging Museum Professional Scholarship
The Association of African American Museums (AAAM) is excited to offer five Emerging Museum Professional (EMP) scholarships. This initiative is designed to support the next generation of leaders in the museum field by providing access to valuable professional development opportunities at AAAM’s 47th Annual Conference.
Through this collaboration, EMP’s will gain exposure to critical conversations on preservation, access, and cultural stewardship while building connections with national leaders, peers, and institutions dedicated to advancing African American history and culture. This scholarship underscores our shared commitment to cultivating inclusive excellence and investing in the future of the museum profession.
#AAAM2025 Emerging Museum Professional (EMP) Opportunity Includes:
- #AAAM2025 Registration – Workshop and conference attendance for five Emerging Museum Professionals. AAAM brings together EMPs, national leaders, policymakers, historic institution leaders, higher education institutions and other organizations to discuss vital issues facing the museum field, including preservation and access work.
- Domestic Travel, Lodging, & Stipend (GSA M&IE) included – Travel costs to #AAAM2025 in Charleston, SC consisting of round-trip domestic travel; lodging; and per diem.
- Two-Year AAAM EMP Memberships – Eligibility to present at the Annual AAAM Conference; Access to Members-Only Community Board; AAAM Mentor Match; Access to webinars and audio recordings; Information about grants and funding opportunities; Listings of job openings in the museum field; Networking and training opportunities; Eligibility for AAAM leadership opportunities; and more.
