Benefiting the Annual Burroughs-Wright Fellowship
Cultivating Future Museum Professionals
The Association of African American Museums (AAAM) will hold its 40th annual conference August 8 – August 11, 2018 in Hampton, VA, hosted by the Hampton University Museum. AAAM Board of Directors seeks your support of its efforts to raise $10,000 for the Burroughs-Wright Fellowship. The fellowship is awarded to qualified university students and first-year museum professionals to honor the legacy of black museum pioneers, Margaret T. G. Burroughs and Dr. Charles H. Wright.
A Silent Auction will be held at the conference site, Embassy Suites by Hilton, 1700 Coliseum Dr. Hampton, VA 23666, August 9-10, 2018. Auction proceeds allow us to further the mission of providing fellows with professional development, technical training, and mentorship opportunities. AAAM requests your support of the Silent Auction goal, through the donation of an item(s) valued at $25.00 or greater.
Items in demand at previous auctions include: designer apparel and accessories, event packages, special event tickets, gift certificates, resort destinations or stay-cations, artwork, and books. In addition to what is listed above, new ideas and items are welcome. Can AAAM count on your support to make this year’s auction a success?
The value of your generous gift is tax deductible and all donors are given prominent recognition during the conference as well as on the AAAM website and social media platforms.
Thank you in advance for your commitment and support of the Burroughs-Wright Fellowship!
Submission Deadline: JUNE 15, 2018
